Ask them to draw by observation

Young kids need some reference to look and draw an object. Be it a kite or a ball, place an object at a certain distance and ask them to observe it carefully. Enquire them about their shapes and size, colors, and patterns on the object. Tell them to draw whatever they can figure out from the object. This way they will analyze the object thoroughly and try to replicate it neatly.

Show them other kids’ drawings

Drawings done by other kids will be in tune with your children’s. They match their wavelengths and makes it easier for them to decode the concept in it and the way it is drawn. If your kid has siblings, ask them to draw and show them to the little ones. This way the elder ones will also draw and it also becomes easier for your small child to learn from their elder sibling. Another secret here! This is a great way to develop their sibling bond and to engage them too.

Give them choices

Some children love watercolors, some love coloring with crayons. Sketch pens are one’s arena while others love drawing with pencils only. Ask what your child wants to draw with. Hand them over their favorite drawing equipment. This will make them fall in love with drawing and you can see a cheer on their faces all the time they draw! Without even knowing by themselves, they will immerse in drawing and will bring their creative best to the fore.

Make drawing a family time activity

Instead of asking your child to draw on their own, make drawing a family time activity. Take paint brushes all of you – mother, father, siblings, grandparents, and everyone at home. Spend a day relaxing painting and drawing along with your little ones. This is a great way to develop family bonds, stay away from digital devices, and relax amidst your hectic life. Your child will appreciate this idea and will realize that the family will do anything to develop his skills and interests.
